Nature and Landscapes

Always different and unspoilt landscapes dispersed in the green hillsides

The typical Umbrian landscape in the northwestern area is marked by a succession of hills dotted with ancient villages and farmhouses. In the south are alluvial basins and large valley cliffs: the Umbrian Valley, the high and middle Tiber valleys, the river Paglia valley and the basins of Gubbio, Terni and Gualdo Tadino. The agrarian landscapes of vines, olive trees, tobacco plantations and sunflowers frame the Trasimeno basin. A regional park protects the hydrological and biological balance of the lake, including the three islands, and the surrounding hills.
